Every Mother Counts Solidarity Run

To my Peachtree Corners friends (or those willing to drive a little way to run with me), an invitation.

When: Sunday, November 4
Time: 7:00am
Where: Robert Fowler YMCA Parking Lot
What: Every Mother Counts Solidarity 5K

Why?
Every Mother Counts, an organization launched by Christy Turlington to raise awareness and funds for maternal health, has a team running the NYC Marathon on November 4. They have asked the Oiselle ambassadors (I’m a lucky one) to help them expand its reach by doing a 5K (run or walk) in solidarity on November 4 while the EMC team hits the pavement in New York City.

By asking people to walk or run in communities across the country, they aim to raise awareness of a simple but devastating barrier for pregnant women around the world: distance.

5K is less than the average distance a pregnant woman in the developing world must travel to receive the basic health care she needs to deliver her baby.

I hope you’ll join me. It will be fun and we will be running to empower people everywhere to support maternal health.

If you’d like to participate, email me (rachelle at kigofootwear dot com). If you’d like a shirt, Oiselle has some great EMC designs, and proceeds go to supporting the cause. They are super high quality and make a powerful statement (and a fun nod to the old RUN DMC album we all had in college.)

Can’t promise we’ll look like a supermodel, but we’ll definitely look like really awesome moms.

I’ll buy shirts for everyone who wants one for $25. Deadline will be sooner than later so we get them in time! Just tell me which shirt and your size. I’ll bring them with me on that Sunday and you can reimburse me then.

Tell a friend! Let’s do this MOM STYLE. Let’s make this epic!
